Choose designs that speak to your character and taste.
Contemporary Living Room
From the color selection to the selection of the furniture, these details are ideal in a contemporary living room. This interior floor offers an open flow of space for entertaining.

Contemporary Storage Board

Simple designs with some symmetry of spacing is a true reflection of a contemporary piece, I particularly love this image, which demonstrates how contemporary pieces don’t have to fit into a white, neutral space, and work well with the current trend of dark or botanical walls.

Contemporary Kitchen and Dining Room

Whether for a family meal, entertainment with friends, or a gathering with relatives, contemporary dining sets offer you a great way to add a modern touch to your dining room.

Contemporary Lighting

Contemporary lighting is often smooth, angular or textured sometimes all 3 and fits well in a contemporary design. The lighting we put should not set down the other pieces of the room. It should well mix with the color and plenty of other accessories of the room.

Contemporary Dressing Table

The dressing table is one of the most eye-catching pieces in a bedroom. It has to be a mix of good storage drawers with a box to sit on. An elegant look of a dressing table is all you need and contemporary design makes it look just perfect.

Want a Dazzling Interior in 2019? Follow These Expert Predictions for the New Year

The New Year has arrived. As you change calendars, you’ll feel the need to change your home’s interior. But many people don’t know what changes they can make.
“What can I do?”, “Should I switch my bed or sofas?” such questions begin to bug everyone. You don’t have to be one of them.
Because in this article, we’ll tell you our predictions (with experts’ opinions) for your interior design. So without further ado, let’s begin:

Prediction #1: More Designs and Less of ‘Less’

Styles are now getting mixed. Having everything of the same colour or texture will be out, says Dolores Suarez (Dekar Design). So keep an eye out for complex designs. Wallpapers will stay in the trend according to Hayley Johnson, Interior Designer.
If you have a simple looking room, now will be a great chance to add designer wallpapers.

Prediction #2: Increased Dominance of Curves

Curvy sofas are back and this time, they are here to stay. They add a premium feel to the room while adding friendliness to the same. Susan Glick (Susan Glick Interiors) is of the same opinion.
She says that the curvy furniture of mid-century design has become widely popular. Combine the curvy sofas with velvet and you get more sensuality.
If you’re worried you can’t afford curvy sofas, check out this collection on our site. You’ll not be disappointed.

Prediction #3: Soft Colours will be More Popular

Glick adds that neutral colours are in trend right now. Along with blue, these colours give you a great accent. Not only blue, but neutral colours themselves will be popular.
Hayley says grey colour, which has been in trend for some time now, will get replaced by the neutrals.
Use these colours on the walls or the furniture to make your interiors soothing.

Prediction #4: Going for the Traditional Look

Metallic highlights will see an increase in their presence this year, particularly brass. With new introductions taking place regularly in the market, brass is entering new areas of interior design.
You can get brass ornaments for your home and make the interior more interesting. Use brass or nickel metal accents to boost the look. You can also use silver or pewter with black metals.
Apart from metallic highlights, you also have sustainable materials enhancing the looks.  Kristen (K Interiors) says people keep these materials to feel closer to earth.

Prediction #5: Accent Walls will go

Accents used to look good but they’re no longer the same. With the rising popularity of neutral colours and light shades of popular colours, you’ll see less of accent walls.
Cool designs and wallpapers can also replace these accent walls.

Prediction #6: Keeping Nature Close

Do you like these trends? What do you think of them? Let us know. Indoor plants were a huge trend in 2018. Bonsai plants used to give a more ‘natural’ feel to the interior. And according to Natasha Sidhu, these plants will get more popular in the coming year.
Kesha Franklin (Halden Interiors) says light coloured floors will be a big thing this year. They reflect more light and can give you a more luxurious feel.

Summary

You don’t need to buy a new house or switch wallpapers to stay in trend. Start small first. Get a sofa or a new bed. And you’ll be good to go.

How to Get Rid of Excess Furniture Easily

You want to get a new sofa or maybe a new bedroom set but you don’t know where you’ll put your old furniture.
Everyone faces this problem when getting new furniture. Getting rid of the unwanted furniture is important because you don’t want clutter in your house.
But you don’t have to throw them out. You can recycle them or donate them to someone in need. Here’s how:

Recycling your Furniture:

Government-run centres:

There are local recycling centres ( also known as the ‘tip’), which happily recycle the furniture. The amount of furniture they accept depends on the centre.
Most of the local recycling centres accept small as well as large pieces furniture, including sofas and mattresses. If you want to get rid of electrical items (television, refrigerator, etc.), the centres might accept them as well.
Be sure to check the capacity of the centre before going there. Some centres accept electrical items and large pieces of furniture while some don’t.
You’ll need a residential proof when you go there. It would be better if you go to a nearby centre first. Commercial vehicles require a permit to enter these centres but the policies vary from one centre to another.

Independent Centers:

Various organizations are actively working in making the earth a better place. So you can also find the recycling centres of an independent organization as well.
British Heart Foundation is one such organization. They collect your furniture along with electrical items and sell them. The profits go to charity.
You can also find local independent centres in your area.

How to Donate your Furniture:

If you want to, you can donate the furniture to charity as well. There are many second-hand shops and charities present which accept usable furniture.
Most of them offer a free collection facility as well. You’ll just have to give them a call and they’ll make the arrangements.
Ensure that your furniture is tidy and usable when you donate it.

How to Resell the Furniture:

Is your furniture in pristine condition? Then you can make a few bucks.
Reselling the furniture will take longer than the other processes mentioned in this article. But it is also the most rewarding one.
First, you’ll have to clean the furniture and take some good photos. Then, write down all the relevant information about the furniture such as its age, condition, etc.
You’ll need to choose a specific price for your piece of furniture. Before you do that, you should check the market for similar prices. This will help you get an idea of the average rates.
After that, you can post its ads online. There are many websites which provide this facility. You can also release adverts.

How to Throw Away your Furniture:

The fastest method to get rid of your furniture is to throw it away. You can use the council waste collection service of the local authorities.
They charge you a fee and they might take some time (around 8 weeks) but it saves you the effort of carrying the furniture around.
You might need to remove glass panels and mirrors from the furniture before you send to waste collection. They don’t collect these materials.
They’ll also ask you to dismantle drawers and other loose parts. They collect most of the furniture and electrical items but not anything that could go in your trash.

Summary:

You can choose any one of the aforementioned methods to get rid of your excess furniture. If you choose to donate, recycle or resell the furniture, make sure it is clean and in a good condition.
Which method will you use? Let us know.
