The New Year has arrived. As you change calendars, you’ll feel the need to change your home’s interior. But many people don’t know what changes they can make.
“What can I do?”, “Should I switch my bed or sofas?” such questions begin to bug everyone. You don’t have to be one of them.
Because in this article, we’ll tell you our predictions (with experts’ opinions) for your interior design. So without further ado, let’s begin:

Prediction #1: More Designs and Less of ‘Less’

Styles are now getting mixed. Having everything of the same colour or texture will be out, says Dolores Suarez (Dekar Design). So keep an eye out for complex designs. Wallpapers will stay in the trend according to Hayley Johnson, Interior Designer.
If you have a simple looking room, now will be a great chance to add designer wallpapers.

Prediction #2: Increased Dominance of Curves

Curvy sofas are back and this time, they are here to stay. They add a premium feel to the room while adding friendliness to the same. Susan Glick (Susan Glick Interiors) is of the same opinion.
She says that the curvy furniture of mid-century design has become widely popular. Combine the curvy sofas with velvet and you get more sensuality.

Prediction #3: Soft Colours will be More Popular

Glick adds that neutral colours are in trend right now. Along with blue, these colours give you a great accent. Not only blue, but neutral colours themselves will be popular.
Hayley says grey colour, which has been in trend for some time now, will get replaced by the neutrals.
Use these colours on the walls or the furniture to make your interiors soothing.

Prediction #4: Going for the Traditional Look

Metallic highlights will see an increase in their presence this year, particularly brass. With new introductions taking place regularly in the market, brass is entering new areas of interior design.
You can get brass ornaments for your home and make the interior more interesting. Use brass or nickel metal accents to boost the look. You can also use silver or pewter with black metals.
Apart from metallic highlights, you also have sustainable materials enhancing the looks.  Kristen (K Interiors) says people keep these materials to feel closer to earth.

Prediction #5: Accent Walls will go

Accents used to look good but they’re no longer the same. With the rising popularity of neutral colours and light shades of popular colours, you’ll see less of accent walls.
Cool designs and wallpapers can also replace these accent walls.

Prediction #6: Keeping Nature Close
